IIM L - Amongst the top B Schools in India - the fourth of the IIMs established in India.

The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, is one of the six national level management institutes set up by the Government of India. The aim of the institute is to help improve the management of corporate and non-corporate sectors and public systems, through pursuit of excellence in management education, research, consultancy and training.

The Institute undertakes a diverse range of academic activities aimed at creation, dissemination, and application of management knowledge and practice. These include:

In order to further strengthen Institute-Industry interaction, many corporate giants like ONGC, BPCL, ESCOTEL, IDBI have come forward to sponsor Chair Professorships.

To give a big boost to its international academic exchange programme, the Institute has estabilished collaborative tie-ups with 14 leading counter-parts in Australia, Europe and Canada.

Campus

The campus is spread over an area of 185 acres and is beautifully landscaped. The campus has a well-equipped library, a modern computer centre, an automated programme office, class room block having 950 seats, twelve furnished hostels with single-seater bachelor accommodation for 495 students. A medical centre, guest house, a sports complex for indoor games and residential buildings and community centre and all lecture halls of PGP block are air-conditioned.

Special Facilities

As part of its efforts to develop centres of excellence in different areas of management, the Institute is setting up specialized facilities to support its teaching, research and training activities.

The Institute has set up a Manufacturing Management Decision Support laboratory. The manufacturing decision environments are created using state-of-the-art-software which are used to study the analysis, design and operation of Manufacturing Systems.

An Information technology and Software Mangement Laboratory has been estabilished to provide state-of-art software development methodologies.

A laboratory for carrying out reaearch on advanced methodologies for marketing has been set up with exclusive state-of-the-art computing power. An exclusive computer based teaching/training laboratory has been set up to simulate the class room teaching environment (virtual campus).

An incubation and innovation centre has been set up to promote entrepreneurship spirit among the students using sophisticated technologies.

These exclude the ongoing projects like global presence through video-conferencing, e-learning management systems and optimized proxy cache service available locally.

Post-Graduate Programme in Management

The two-year PGP is a full time residential course for graduates from all disciplines. This programme trains young men and women for careers in management in public and private sectors.

Eligibility
At least a three-year Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities / AICTE as eligible for post-graduates studies. Candidates in their final year Bachelor or equivalent programme can also apply.

Selection
Final selection of candidates to these programmes is based on their academic records, work experience, performance in CAT, group discussion, and personal interview.

Reservations
As per the Government of India requirements 15% and 7.5% of the seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates who fulfill admission requirements of IIM L. 3% seats are reserved for candidates with disabilities as per the Persons with Disabilities Act, 1995 who meet admission requirements of IIML.

Placement
The Placement Office at IIM Lucknow makes every effort to match student career aspirations with the human resource requirement of organizations. The Institute has been continuously maintaining its track record of 100% placement for its students in the best of the companies in the country and abroad.

The Placement Process in 2004 saw all students being placed. 85 companies had participated in Placement 2004 and offered 302 jobs for 220 students.
